English Karate

Practicing English Contact Karate (Modern Karate) helps children build confidence, stay physically fit, and develop discipline and focus. It teaches practical self-defense skills while fostering respect, teamwork, and social interaction. Additionally, it offers a healthy outlet for stress, making it a well-rounded activity for personal growth and safety.

English Contact Karate is a hybrid martial art that combines elements of traditional karate with aspects of other fighting styles, including kickboxing, Muay Thai, and sometimes grappling techniques. It was developed in the United Kingdom as a more modern and dynamic form of karate, with an emphasis on full-contact sparring and practical self-defense.

Considering the fact that martial arts enthusiasts have different talents, we understand that and try our best to work accordingly.

It is to be kindly noted that training in English Contact Karate which is a Modern Karate class, doesn't mean that the students would have to get into international competitions, students can also refrain from competitions if they feel like they don't want to participate. And in the case where the student is interested in competitions, but doesn't want to get into combats, the student may opt for 'Show Performances'.

The following is a list of different types of competitions;

- Show Performances: Designed for those who prefer the art and discipline of martial arts without engaging in combat, focusing on choreographed demonstrations of techniques and forms.

- Light Contact: Focuses on controlled techniques with minimal power, emphasizing speed and precision without causing significant harm.

- Semi-Contact: Strikes are more powerful than in light contact, but still controlled to avoid full-force impact. Points are awarded for clean, well-executed techniques.

- Full Contact: Allows for powerful, full-force strikes with the goal of knocking out the opponent or winning by points in a realistic combat scenario.

- Low Kick Contact: Similar to full contact, but includes low kicks targeting the legs, adding an additional layer of strategy and skill.

The English Contact Karate Association has been established for more than 30 years in UK and is one of the largest and most successful full contact styles. It has got well established academies throughout the UK and consists of instructors which are highly trained Black Belt with governing body qualifications.

English Contact Karate is a modern Karate System affiliated to Kickboxing Great Britain who is recognised by Sport England, Sport Scotland and Sport Wales as the National Governing Body for Kickboxing in England, Scotland and Wales and they're also recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

The quality administration in English Contact Karate ensures well-structured programs, safety standards, and a supportive environment for all participants, enhancing both learning and development.
